Electronics and Communication Engineering is at the core of every new advancement and deployment of information technology in lifestyle and business. ECE is the most versatile and comprehensive engineering discipline covering core electronics technology, devices, communication and computing networks, and the integration of all of these into easy-to-use gadgets, machines, and services. Students in this course develop skills in exciting and hot areas like IoT, M2M, Blockchain. Students have a wide career opportunity in industry, research, services; or they can launch their own start-ups (Atria Business Incubation Centre opportunity).

The department of Electronics and Communication Engineering was established in the year 2000 . The present UG intake is 180 and the department also offers M.Tech. in Digital Electronics & Communication with an intake of 18. The department has well-qualified faculty members and it offers subjects relevant to current industrial needs. Our faculty brings state-of-the-art research, development and design experience into the classroom. The department is equipped with adequate classrooms, department library, multiple laboratories, seminar hall and conference hall. Students have a wide career opportunity in industry, research, services; or they can launch their start-ups (Atria Business Incubation Centre opportunity). Over the years, the graduating students have gone on to occupy key positions in education, science, industry and government administration in India and abroad. In the future, the department plans to extend its research into new areas like Biomedical Signal and Image Processing, Internet of Things and Smart Devices.

The students are encouraged and mentored by faculty of the department to participate in elite project competitions like DST & Texas Instruments, Indian Innovation Challenge Design Contest, L&T’s Techgium, Govt of India’s Smart India Hackathon(SIH) etc. Also, students are made to intern with several niche technology enabled S&ME as well as large organizations to prepare them well for career. Wipro, TCS, Amazon, Infosys, Cognizant, Tech Mahindra are a few names where are students have been placed this year.

INDUSTRY INTERFACE

  • The department of ECE has started three clusters named IoT, Signal Processing Group and Embedded where various events are organized to enhance the skill of the students and make them industry ready
  • MoUs with corporates for projects, guest lectures, workshops, internships and placements have been signed up
  • Teamwork and innovation challenge projects of contests conducted by Texas Instruments, Intel, etc., provide industry linkage and enhances industry readiness
  • Participation in Technical clubs, projects, and pursuit of hot topics in Centres of Excellence gives exposure on cutting edge technologies
